Description
Corgi 49803 Hawker Hunter Mk6 4FTS (1976) 1/76 die-cast aircraft.
Among the many roles the RAF used the Hunter for was as a fast jet trainer with No.4 Flying Training School at Valley on the Isle of Anglesey, to convert pilots from the Folland Gnat trainer to the more advanced fighter types and to teach them to handling techniques of the Hunter.
No.4 FTS operated 20 Hunters, of which about half were of the F.Mk6 single seater variant and the other half, two seaters.
After it’s flying duties were over, XG274 went on to serve as a ground instructional airframe at RAF Halton in Buckinghamshire. It still survives to this day with a private enthusiast, albeit still grounded.
