Britain’s, 36033, Napoleonic British 42nd (Royal Highland) (Black Watch) Grenadier NCO Attacking With Pike #1, Waterloo, 1815, 1 Piece, 54mm Metal Figure. The 42nd Royal Highland (Black Watch) Regiment is without doubt one of the most famous regiments engaged in the 1815 campaign. At Waterloo, the 42nd were not heavily engaged, but had a most desperate battle at Quatre Bras, when they were partly overrun by French cavalry while in the act of forming square; total losses for the three days action were twenty four officers and 314 men out of 526.Captain Menzies of the Grenadier Company, who stood six feet six inches without his bonnet took on a troop of lancers single handled. He killed a large number with his broad-sword, an ancient weapon made by Andrea Ferrara, before he fell with seventeen lance wounds. He lived to a great age, and enjoyed telling his dinner guests in Perthshire that of the seventeen wounds he received, fourteen were mortal!Combine shipping on multiple purchases, please see my other listings. No International Shipping, Domestic US Only.
