The photo-reconnaissance Spitfire PR.XIX was the last and fastest of the reconnaissance Spitfires. Powered by a Rolls-Royce Griffon engine and carrying cameras instead of guns, it relied on speed and altitude to photograph targets deep in enemy territory, and served with the RAF into the 1950s.
