Launched in 1959 to replace the Bedford S type, the Beford TK had many body derivatives one of which was a fire engine. This TK is based on a Carmichael body. The West Midlands Fire Service was created in 1974 when the West Midlands county came into being. Prior to its creation, each of the county boroughs in the West Midlands area (Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Solihull, Walsall, Warley, West Bromwich, Wolverhampton) had their own brigades.

An incredible pedigree, developed from the Series 1 that was launched in 1948, it evolved with the arrival of the Series II and Series III designs, before being designated the Land Rover Ninety/One Ten and eventually the Land Rover Defender. The Defender was extensively by the Military as shown in this example.
